The Olympics has brought plenty of great sporting action, often followed by some very tender moments between competitors and loved ones afterwards.

While many will marvel at epic races, spectacular dives and exceptional skill, there have also been some truly heart-warming moments, not least when competitors with baby sons and daughters have been reunited with them in the aftermath.

Great examples include that of Amber Rutter, who won the silver for Great Britain in the women’s skeet shooting final just three months after giving birth. It could have been gold, but the sport has no equivalent of VAR and a hit on her last target was not seen by the judges.

However, she was still able to celebrate her medal success with her baby son Tommy afterwards.

Most new parents won’t spend time with babies while wearing Olympic medals of any colour, but you can create some very special memories with a different sort of bronze.

A cast of your baby’s feet will help create a permanent reminder of those precious few early months, which can seem to pass by so quickly. It may not be a bronze of the kind that gets worn proudly on a podium, but it can form your own special memory. You won’t need cheering crowds or world records.

Other countries may have their own way of linking babies with the Olympics. In the US, it is common for their top stars to inspire baby names, with the likes of Coco Gauff and LeBron James among those whose impact will be felt in registrar’s offices as much as the sporting arena, according to Parents Magazine.

However, with a bronze cast to act as a reminder of when their feet and hands were tiny, you can put your baby centre stage, not a sports star you might never meet. After all, it may be one day when those feet are big that they are racing down an Olympic track themselves.
